BLACKMORE VALE FOOTBALL LEAGUE: YOUTH LEAGUE & CUPS

Knockout Cup

Donated by the BVFL in 1972

The Youth Knock-Out Cup was donated by the league in 1972 and is the oldest of the trophies the league has (we have a base which is first dated 1969, but no cup?)
Gillingham Youth Centre added the knockout cup to thier haul in the early 80's as they had already won the Fred Brayshaw Cup and the Knockout Sheild during 1980-1984 winning each a number of times during this period, and again not once, but three in a row!

Wisdom Trophy

The Boys Knock-Out Shield continued on a similar theme as all the other Blackmore Vale Youth Leagues and Cups, with Gillingham Youth Centre taking on all comers and winning!
During the period 1980 to 1984, (11) eleven trophies where won by Gillingham Youth Centre. The Boys Knockout Shield was played just about every year from 1973-1974 to 1983-1984, but then a three-season break was took, before Gillingham won it again, making it four in a row in this competition alone, all be it with a few gaps! Before Shaftesbury took over winning the cup. Thornford were the last winners in season 1990-91.
